What a great weekend!! It began early Saturday morning when Uncle Brandon and Aunt Deanna arrived from Sun Valley, Idaho. Despite the pouring rain, we all rallied and headed to the pumpkin patch. We specifically saved it until this weekend so they would be able to join us on this fun family tradition. So, rain or shine, we were going! We headed to Maris Farms, which is where we went last year. Nelia was only 4 months old last year so this year was a completely different experience. She absolutely loved walking through the barn and checking out all the farm animals this year. She took her very first pony ride too! She wasn't too sure at the start, but by the end she had a smile on her face:) We trudged through the mud with our wheelbarrow (is this word weird to anyone else? Sorry, I digress) and picked out a huge pumpkin. Originally we were going to pick out 3, but it was just too cold and rainy. We took some pictures, paid for our pumpkin, and headed out.
Brandon had asked someone at the pumpkin patch for a lunch recommendation and she recommended a burger joint called Wallys so we headed there for some yummy burgers, fries, and milkshakes. Nelia has really been into dipping her food lately, but the problem is that she just licks the dip off and then goes back for more. So, she had chicken nuggets with ketchup, but really I think she just had ketchup for lunch:)
After lunch we headed home for naptime, the guys went out exploring near the Green River Gorge (random, huh?), and Deanna and I got to just relax and talk while Nelia napped. So nice!!!
Later that afternoon the guys carved the pumpkin (which by the way, was huge and had hardly any seeds!). Nelia wasn't too sure about the carving process and wanted nothing to do with touching the pumpkin guts:) However, she did oversee the entire process:) And the pumpkin did get a few kisses from her!
After Nelia went to bed, Deanna and I headed out and picked up take-out for dinner and a scary movie for all of us to watch.
Such a great day!!!
